First the moon landing, now this.

Fantastic, man. I've been waiting for a new episode for ages. It really was the dirtiest episode ever...

Excellent.

It had been such a long time, that I had to watch the entire series again before watching this episode - to ensure I wouldn't be lost. What is there to say? My title sums it up. An excellent mix of animation, sound and action made this what it is. 10/5.

Very promising.

Much better than Episode one in terms of storyline and overall humor. The Otomite/SBC clock skit did it for me, hands down the funniest part of the show. The animation I think was very good, the effects, the fade-ins and all the fancy camera movements you used were very well employed. The character animation is quirky but likable and fits the show.

The sound - well, how do I put this? The Matt character has a very whiny voice - I don't think it'll fare well unless it undergoes some minor adjustments. I can probably tell that Snowflake is voiced by the same guy because they are very similar, it was just for a second there - I figured that someone who wasn't paying attention to the storyline might think that Matt was nailing a cat in the middle of the SBC/Otomite skit. The other voices are done okay I believe.

The comedy is hit and miss as is expected with any cartoon sitcom, but thankfully they were mostly hit. I watched Episode 1 first and even though it was intended for a contest for a kids show, the sharp incline in expletives was a little unexpected for me in the "Lost" episode, but in the end only added to the funny.

My review title stands however - the show is very promising and I'll surely tune in to the next episode whenever it suffices.

Good luck on your next submissions!

Excellent stuff.

Wow, it gets better every time. Really great episode, and whaaaat?! Is there a Reservoir Dogs reference in there somewhere!? Yes there is!

The jokes really work. Your comedy skills are getting better all the time. Great plot, and the recurrence of guest stars is a great boost. I understand the sound quality had to be toned down in order to achieve a reasonable file size, so you won't lose points for that. (FYI - I gave you a 9 because of the similarity in many voice ex. Dean Kregger)

Thank you for delighting the Newgrounds Community with your submission. Great episode. Congratulations, you're sure to get showered with awards and praise for this!

Hey thanks for the great review. Glad you take the audio stuff into consideration. One thing I'm not quite sure of is the Kregger example. Because for the most part- voices are done by me and my brother, who basically have the same voice- but for Kregger- It's our friend Scottie...so who knows. But thanks again!

Xombie Chapter 5 | Reel 1 review...

Hahaha, you know... this is ridiculous. Every time James Farr or Adam Phillips submit a movie, it's an instant 5.

Unlike people who Instantly 5 a Legendary Frog movie without watching it, an instant 5 for Mr. Farr is completely deserved. I mean, are you kidding me? How is this not on another form of mass media yet? Great story, great animation, it's just great entertainment.

No question about it - 10/10 & 5/5.

Shitty crossover...

You mean to tell me you're trying to pass this off as a crossover of Battle Royale, one of the most hardcore kickass (and most violent) movies EVER, with....... SURVIVOR?! The TV Show?!

Wow, that's absolutely dumb. Why not just go with the original Battle Royale idea? You don't need Survivor.

Also, it seems to me you're trying to pass this off as an original idea. Trust me, more people have seen Battle Royale than you think.

Damnit, I'm serious.

Can I adopt that little girl?

Wow, I tried to resist. It was sad. I have a lot of political issues with this flash, you know? How if maybe you were Afghani or Iraqi you might understand how much worse that little girl might be off after the US coalitions not just might've murdered her father, but burned her village and killed various other family members. Stuff like that. But I'm sure you were conscious about that.

I'll let it go anyhow. Any death like that, under any circumstance, a child getting a parent taken away like that, is a tragedy.

And you did a great job of expressing that tragedy through this movie. It was a very good movie.

Excellent work!

I'm really a big fan of this series, it's so stylized, and it's use of music and mood is very professional. The animation is sublime, and only the lack of voice acting is hampering it from constant praise of all of Newgrounds.

The only gripe I have with the series is the fact that you introduce characters every 2 minutes. I've honestly lost count of who's supposed to be important and who's just a temporary/secondary chracter. You should stick with a nucleus of characters who carry the series and make it less confusing for the public.

Shameless self-promotion.

If I am not mistaken, this is the third episode where you've snuck in some reference to your band/other series "16 buttons of juustice", correct? Listen, I'm all for being proud of one's own artistic work and everything, but hey... I don't think you have to go to such lengths to draw attention to your music. If it's good enough, then it'll speak for itself. I mean, it doesn't bother me too much, but it seems to me like you're pushing this thing too hard. Same thing when other animators have references or sometimes hardcore ads for their other submissions on some cartoons, you know? I don't like it, and I'm sure no one thinks it's funny or cute.

Now ... on to the actual review of the movie.
Graphics were good, that's expected... you got a great animator.

The sound was uninspired, the accents, the sound effects gag wasn't even chuckle-worthy, to tell you the truth.

The style of the movie, that was okay considering it was semi-original to do something like this, so it's passable at best.

But you know what? I could care less about all those things, because the comedy is the bread and butter behind this series, and I'm sorry to say that I didn't think it was that good, it made me chuckle a few times, but that's it. It was regular, at best. Hence my giving you a 5 for humor and a 5 overall. It's that simple.

Good luck on your next submissions!

Waterman responds:

What are you even talking about shameless self-promotion? 16Buttons of Justice wasn't even in this episode and if you think I am really a raccoon...then you have some of your own issues you should work out first haha. Finally, no worries because this is the last submission we will be giving to NewGrounds.com.

Absolutely hilarious!

Awesome work. A unique and funny series is hard to come by on Newgrounds, and arguably weebl and bob is one of the best. The opening sequence is genius, it was my favorite part. Great job!
